Hi, my name is Dave Bishop. I'm an OB/GYN physician here at
Salem Health. I went to college here in Oregon at Linfield College just down
the road in McMinnville.
From there I did my medical school in Tulane
University in New Orleans -- and then I did my postgraduate training at the
University of Texas in Dallas. I grew up with my father as an OB/GYN physician
and I didn't think I wanted that lifestyle. But it turned out when I got into
medical school in the clinical rotations, that's what really sparked my
interest.
I'm a general OB/GYN so I do a lot of the general practice. But I
also especially enjoy doing robotic surgery. Why I appreciate working at Salem
Health is the safety culture that we have here --as
well as the people I work with are just top-notch. When a patient comes to see
me for the first time, my hope is that I'm not going to develop just their
medical history, but also get to know about their life story and what brought
them here today.
